Suicide safety plan

23/3/2020

What is safety planning?
Often someone who thinks about hurting themselves doesn't really want to die. They are in emotional pain and just want it to go away or, part of them wants to live, but sometimes life can feel so hard.
Every suicide is felt by friends, family and their communities. LGBTI and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities are at an increased risk of suicide.
It can be helpful to have a plan when you are going through a tough time.
This is called a safety plan.
